an announcement
so – and i am actually afraid to say this, lest someone beats me up – i am shifting platforms again. ):
the new site is wllywngka; tumblr is awesome, easy to use, & everything else in between, but it is way too inflexible for my purposes. also my friends have been bugging me to get a stronger online identity (gallery x doesn’t quite cut it, i must agree), so i tried to get willywongka, but that has already been taken up by a dude named wilson wong… i know, wtf right. granted, his name is much closer to willywongka than mine is, but still. i can’t help but feel upset over this D:
never mind that, my sweet followers, could i please inconvenience you guys to pop over to the new site from now on for your dose of poorly shot photographs! xx

had a great dinner on friday night - amazing because of the food but also because of the company. jingwei is back! i have not had such good conversation in such a long time.

the assiette lyonnaise had this amazing goose terrine with chunks of foie gras in it (that’s it in the centre) & came with chunks of flame-grilled sourdough… aaskldjlaksjflakjsflkajsf

that was some incredible bearnaise right there. in fact, pretty much everything was rather jizz-worthy

jingwei’s pasta present, bought from a shop in the vatican city no less

happy birthday eli! ♥
i realized the reason why i’ve been in such irrepressibly good spirits lately is because all my friends have been or are coming back, & god i’ve missed them terribly. sometimes i worry if twenty years down the road i will still be close to these friends, or have other friends as awesome as these at all. it was in rather serendipitous circumstances that i came to be close to them, & perhaps not in the most normal of ways, & they’re all across the world now, so i think my worry here is not entirely unjustified (quite unlike most worries of mine!). but now, i think, i shall not think too much, i’ll just thank god for them.

(:

rust obviously looks awesome on asian skin, i don’t know why i don’t have any shirts in that color. mmmrph

these two kool kats are here on business from ukraine. look at them rocking the prints!! & if you thought those were amazing…

check that out.
(i’m afraid i might have fallen into the stereotyping trap - i said rather blithely that i’d like very much to visit their country one day & that it must be really cold… but apparently it is 36 degrees right now. thank god i didn’t say i was looking forward to trying chicken kiev)

epic outfit.
(but slightly off focus… this camera is going to kill me one day)

continuing in the vein of matchy-matchy, ysl pumps

this is how you do matching outfits, you guys!! or this.

because eliseus refuses to wear his pair out when i am with him, i have to photograph them on a stranger D: (a really obliging one nevertheless!)

sick shoe game, to borrow a phrase from the very rocking karl-edwin guerre.

dude, when i’m old i’m definitely keeping a beard like that…
actually i think being old entitles you to a lot of shit, like wearing a white stetson / jade pendant / matching jade (almost) sheer shirt.
the fanny pack’s still inexcusable though, sorry!

i must say though, ferris wheels are possibly the single most boring things ever invented.

come to think of it, why do even they put these at amusement parks?? i mean you’re all OHSHIT ROLLERCOASTER WHOOOO BLAAAAHAHA then your friend goes OMG idea let’s go take the ferris wheel & you’re expecting it to be totally sexciting, but it goes at the speed of like, nothing, and you’re trapped in uncomfortably close proximity with about 2000 other strangers, and the schlub next to you has some rly intense b.o. going on.

sorry, that’s just me angsting at not being able to get a proper un-smudgy photo of the singapore skyline while i could. i don’t even take rollercoasters. lollercoaster.

i’d hesitate to call this a suit, but, well, there you go.
the first thing i noticed about annabel was the prints on her jumpsuit (well, duh), but as we walked out to take this photo outside under more natural light i realized how epic her felt hat was - look at that slight wave in its brim. & that envelope clutch, too. (the epicness, not the slight wave.)
i, for one, have never seen anyone pull off such big-scale color-coordination so well before. you guys… this is some serious steeze going on.
i do realize she’s had lots of photos taken of her & this probably comes nothing close to doing her / any of her clothes any justice, so i’m sorry for that D:

this lady is the visual marketing manager for miu miu, & we had a really pleasant conversation about how young singaporeans are starting to dress a whole lot more stylishly than, say, a couple of years back. it’s nice to think that a foreigner can see singapore’s potential, & while i still don’t think that we are going to become an international fashion capital equal in stature to paris or milan any time soon, it would not be unreasonable to say singapore can be asia’s design hub in five years or so. hell, we’ve already kidnapped dkny jeans.
also i was just looking at this lady’s necklace & realized that she is wearing a black top over her floral dress, not a skirt!
